On Friday night there was a mixer for candidates and their families to have the opportunity to learn more about Drake from current NAS scholarship holders in addition to like myself. This event was meant to put the minds of perspective students at ease before the long day ahead of them on Saturday.
On Saturday students arrived on campus between 7:30 and 8:00a.m. to register for the days activities. Then they were shuttled off to complete the essay portion of the application process. Before their individual fifteen minute interviews with an alumni or faculty member, I had the pleasure of escorting interested students to the where one of my favorite professor spoke to them about the journalism program here at Drake. I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity while in this meeting to discuss the that the school of journalism is closely tied to.
